Dr. Tirthankar is an experienced and highly accomplished medical professional, currently serving as a Professor in the Department of General Medicine at Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences since June 2023. With a wealth of expertise spanning over several years, Dr. Tirthankar has made significant contributions to the field of medicine and medical education.
Previously, Dr. Tirthankar held the position of Associate Professor in the Department of General Medicine at Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences from 2010 to 2023. During this time, he demonstrated exceptional dedication and a passion for teaching, nurturing the next generation of medical professionals.
Prior to his tenure as an Associate Professor, Dr. Tirthankar served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of General Medicine at Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences from 2010 to 2018. In this role, he played a pivotal role in shaping the academic curriculum and providing valuable guidance to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Dr. Tirthankar's commitment to medical education extends beyond the classroom. MBBS: He completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, between April 1997 and March 2002.
MD General Medicine: He pursued his specialization in General Medicine from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences from 2004 to March 2007.
MRCP (UK): In November 2009, Dr. Mukherjee received the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) from the United Kingdom.
DNB General Medicine: He is also a qualified Diplomate of National Board (DNB) in General Medicine from the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi.
MNAMS: Dr. Mukherjee holds the membership of the National Academy of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, which was awarded to him in June 2020 based on his academic achievements.
